Meet the Pilates Village team of certified Pilates Instructors.
Holly Holland, the owner of Pilates Village, is a PMA®-certified Pilates instructor, a Pilates Sports Center Master Teacher Trainer, a licensed Buff Bones® instructor, a certified CoreAlign® teacher, a certified yoga teacher, and a certified TRX® instructor. Known for her energetic and innovative workouts, Holly brings passion and precision to her classes. She forges deep relationships with her students and helps them see how committing to regular exercise can be a gift for their future.
Aileen is a Certified Pilates instructor by the California based Pilates Sports Center. She joined Pilates Bodies (now Pilates Village) in 2009 after years as a studio participant and completing the PSC comprehensive 450 hour certification program. Aileen is originally from New York where she suspended her career as a CPA to raise her six children and manage relocations through Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Louisville. After many years working out intense aerobic routines, Aileen suffered an ankle injury and redirected her fitness energy into Pilates. She has found her organizational talents and dedication to a healthy lifestyle regimen are splendid assets to formulating private and group routines for her clients. Aileen’s clients appreciate her patience with “rookies” as well as her sense to escalate the challenge for the more advanced.
Julie Gahm, a registered nurse since 1995, discovered Pilates in 1999 before, during, and after disc injury. Julie quickly learned that Pilates was the only method that kept her spine healthy and free of pain. She completed her comprehensive certification in Pilates from Integrated Balance in 2006. She believes Pilates is for EVERY BODY!. Julie has witnessed many clients free themselves from the burden of pain, discomfort, and joint immobility through the gift of Pilates.
Jessica Goldstein, whose background is in academia and publishing, discovered Pilates in 2011 as the result of a neck injury. Working with Holly Holland, she was inspired to pursue her teaching certification after the practice kept her pain-and-surgery free for more than 5 years and brought a new focus on fitness into her life. Jessica completed her certification program through Pilates Sports Center in January 2017 and holds certifications in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair. She is thrilled to have found a home at Pilates Village, working with clients of all ages and fitness levels.
Claire is a PMA®-certified Pilates instructor and a licensed Buff Bones® instructor. She has been teaching Pilates since 2001. During her 11-year career as a dancer with the Louisville Ballet, she discovered the benefits of Pilates while recovering from a back injury. Claire works with people of all ages and fitness levels. She has experience working with clients who are dancers, runners, and triathletes. Claire also works with people who have back, neck, and shoulder pain. Claire's goals for her clients are to teach them a fun and safe full body workout that focuses on biomechanics, alignment, and posture.
Molly Mitchell received her Comprehensive Pilates certification from Balanced Body University in 2015, studying with Tom McCook, Nancy Myers, and BBU faculty from EHS Pilates Institute in San Francisco. She taught group classes, duets, and private sessions at EHS Pilates and at Rise Bodyworks in Alameda for two years before moving back to Louisville to pursue an additional certification in massage therapy. Molly became a Pilates enthusiast when knee, shoulder, and low back pain threatened her dance hobby and Pilates classes proved an effective antidote and technique refinement tool. She is always seeking to know more about movement and has completed additional education in Foot and Gait Therapy, Pilates for Scoliosis, Pilates for Dancers, Preggo Pilates, and CoreAlign. For Molly, the power of Pilates is in its adaptability to meet you where you are and create a path toward your goals, whether that is walking with ease or training for the circus. As a teacher, her objective is to empower each client to be a wise steward of their own body and connect to the joy in moving well.
Teresa earned her Pilates Certification from Core Conditioning in Los Angeles in 2003. She immediately began working at Pilates Studio City, which was then owned by her mentor, Kelli Coleman Altounian of Pilates Sports Center, where she instructed for many happy years. Teresa has taken many specialty workshops such as Pilates during Pregnancy, Common Problems and Injuries and Jumpboard. Since arriving to Louisville, Teresa has taught Mat Pilates at Shine Movement Studio, Yoga on Baxter and Bellarmine. She is thrilled to have found a home at Pilates Village where she is teaching groups and privates.
