Improve Movement and Wellness: Pilates for Neurological Conditions® at Holly's Pilates Village in Louisville, Kentucky

At Holly’s Pilates Village, we are proud to be the state’s premier center for brain-based exercise targeting neurological disease and injuries. Through our affiliation with The Neuro Studio, we can dramatically improve the quality of life for individuals who have neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s, and traumatic brain injury.

What is Pilates for Neurological Conditions®?

Pilates for Neurological Conditions® taps into each client's brain to find the unique sensory strategies that help them become more stable in movement. We start with reflexive stability, which is the ability of a joint or multiple joints to respond to movement without losing the integrity of the joint. Proper balance requires alignment of at least two of the body's three motor control systems: visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive. Without that synching, people develop compensatory patterns such as gripping that can lead to pain and injury. We create strategies based on each client's individual response to allow the brain's cerebellum to be the facilitator of change.
